What music were you raised listening to?
When I was younger (until about 11 years old) my parents would usually always listen to old country such as Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, George Strait, Patty Loveless, ect. Now at 14 years old, I've developed my own taste for music which contains hardly any country at all, but I'm thankful that my parents brought me up listening to this music, because even to this day the lyrics linger in my head, and I fit in with most of the Southerners here in Oklahoma.
ANYWAY, what type of music (artists, genres, ect) did your parents raise you listening to before finding you found your personal style, and how has it affected your life? What type of music will you raise your kids listening to if you have kids?
PS: Sorry for my atrocious sentence structure.
I was born in 92 and had a sister 10 years older than me.My mom listened to classic rock,my grandparents(who i stayed 5 day a week around)listened to any and all country, and my older sister listened to 90's rock. And to this day 90's rock(mostly Nirvana)has had the greatest impact on my music taste. It was mostly Nirvana,Smashing Pumpkins,Bush,Red Hot Chili Peppers,No Doubt and other artist like that
