do dog leash couplers work well?
I don't like holding two leashes. I have a 25 pound cockapoo which is sort of a medium sized dog. I also have a maltese mix that is around 10 pounds. He is about half the size of my cockpoo. They walk fine together when I have them on separate leashes. The little one moves a little faster but it isn't a problem. However, the little one gets too near my cockapoo when he wants to go to the bathroom. Will the dogs be able to go to the bathroom without getting in each others way? I am looking at one from Petco. It has a ring that you attach one leash to and then you clip the two attachments to the dog collars.
I personally don't like them. I have found them to be more of a hassle than anything else.
I'm the same as you, where I don't like having to hold more than one leash so what I do is tie the leashes around my waist, given that they are long enough to allow the dog to walk beside me. Not only does it allow me to have both hands free but I have greater control over dogs, especially the ones that are very energetic. lol.
Using 2 dogs as an example when it comes to bathroom breaks on walks, I let one go sniff and do this business and make the other dog sit and wait for his/her turn. After dog A does his/her business, he sits then dog B gets his/her turn. Its just to make it easier on me so I don't end up having tangled leashes or being hog-tied by them. lol
Just my 2 cents
