How do I replace the power curcuits on a external hard drive (read ALL details)?
I have 2 maxtor personal storage 200gb 7200 rpm external hard drives but when i open the plastic casing the hard drives are encased in metal with no screws, should i unbend and open them, i think the curcuits are inside. do i need a soldering tool or something? just so u know i fried the curcuits on 1 by accedently putting my laptop ac cord into the drive i got them confused when i plugged it in it didnt spin up and i smelled this burnt plastic odor so i quickly unpluged and tried with the correct cord but nothing so i left in alone for a day and still didnt turn on. i have really important data on it and it has a manurfactuers warenty for a year but i need my data not just to replace it. and dont tell me to take it to a technician for a reason i cant or dont want to and dont tell me i shouldnt be doing this myself. i have sum experience. please help thanx
