Writer urges crowd to embrace poetry
Maya Angelou urged a sold-out crowd on the University of Missouri campus Thursday night to tear down walls of ignorance, embrace humanity and find comfort in poetry. The 83-year-old writer had audience members on their feet before she even began. She received a second standing ovation at the end of the program.
